"Create Memories"

Hi there!

Today I'd like to share my latest creation with you. I made a layout (shadowbox) with an old photo of my parents, from the time they'd just met. I have used the August sketch from Prima Marketing :

BAP Jennifersketch

And at Scrap Around The World they have again an amazing moodboard this month. I was inspired by the gold from the golden dress(I used golden flowers and gold colored ribbon), also the feathers on the hat (Prima resin feathers at the bottom of the photo) and the flowers on the shoe (flowers are everywhere). I also used some loose sewing thread, like the thread in the photo on the upper right, although it's not on a spool in my layout. And as for the quote: I was thinking about a different kind of "runway". In the picture, my parents were standing at the beginning of their lives together. Kind of like standing at the beginning of your own runway, like a plane, ready to take off.

Enough with the talking, here's my layout:

I've used only papers from different lines of Prima Marketing (Divine collection, Delight and Almanac) except for the music paper(found an old music book on a fleamarket). Also the flowers are only Prima and a few Petaloo, the bling swirls are also Prima (I cut them up to fit the layout). So are the stamp, the wooden clock (on the right),the wire thread, the stickers(the year) and the resin feathers. A little metal embellishment from Ingvild Bolme. For the rest I used some gesso, texture paste, Glimmermist, beads, gel medium, paper doily, a little piece of lace.

Here are a few close-ups:
I cut out the text from an 'Optimist"-flower package:

It really looks as if the little bird is flying ;)

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by here!

Love,

"Cute as can be"- guest-designer @ Scrap It With A Song!

Hi there!

Today I have my second layout for Scrap it with a Song to share with you. This time the song you had to use was one we all know: "Summer Nights" from the movie Grease.

I chose for the line "Cute as can be". I used a very old photo of myself when I was just 2 years old. Look at me, blond curly hair and the little red boots and an overall. Ain't that cute? I was "helping" grandpa bringing the cows to the meadow.

The photo is not very clear because it's printed from a slide ("dia" we say in Dutch)

Again I used lots of layers of papers and lace and on the bottom I used a crocheted doily I found on a fleemarket.

I love flowers...

Thanks for stopping by!

And Scrap it With a Song: thank you for letting me be your guestDTer this month!

Have a great day y'all!!

Hugs,
Brenda xx

"Happy" - guest-designer @ Scrap it with a Song!

Hi there!

last month I won the challenge over at Scrap It With A Song and they asked me to be their guest-designer this month. Of course I said YES!

The challenge for the 1st of the month is a song you probably all know:

"HAPPY" by Pharrell Williams

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM

I chose the title of the song to make my layout with, "Happy". In the picture you see my son, who had just passed his swimming exams (it's a big thing in Holland you know ;-)  ) We were all so proud of him and so very HAPPY!! The song Happy is also one of his favorite songs so no doubt this layout had to be about him. well, here it is then:

It would be great if you'd all play along with the challenge @ Scrap It With a Song.  Check out their blog for the details.

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!
